Shopping with Vulcan to the Sky Trust
To battle the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), in March the government announced the closure of all shops selling non-essential goods. Online retailing is unaffected by these closures if the business is able to work safely, with the government wanting to “keep the country running”.
How are we operating?
We are committed to working safely, minimising any risks and following the government advice to contain this deadly virus.
Many of our volunteers who support the running of our webstore and eBay Shop are of the age group which is most at risk from the virus. As such, before the Government imposed lockdown, our volunteers took the decision to not attend our sites in Doncaster and Stratford-upon-Avon until it is safe for them to do so. In line with the government advice they are socially distancing themselves, with a number of the team self-isolating, to protect themselves during these worrying times.
Within each of our two sites there is only a maximum of two people working at any time. In doing this each person is able to stay two metres away from other people (social distancing). Our team members travel to work separately and alone in their own transport, so are not in contact with any members of the public on their commute. We continue to wash our hands often, for at least 20 seconds, and continue to operate in an environment which is safe to handle your goods.
We have postponed the Vulcan XH558 Airside Tours and Engine Ground-Runs until further notice. As soon as some certainty returns to the situation, we will be working on new dates and will be in touch with any ticket holders directly to ensure that they have the opportunity to visit the Vulcan as soon as is practicable. The Trust is very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and safety of our customers, our dedicated team of volunteers and our staff remain our number one priority.
We will continue to follow the government advice on reducing the spread of the virus.
Please take care, stay safe, and follow the advice given to curb the spread of this virus.
