It was the first time Concorde visited the air show at RAF Finningley ( in the early 1970’s?). We had heard she was supposed to be a noisy aircraft, so we were sitting on our garage roof, just south of Finningley to await her arrival. We always had a good view of what was coming in to the show from there, and often watched at other times too (I remember a King’s cup air race). On this occasion there was a huge amount of aircraft noise – Concorde came up from the south escorted by four Vulcans.
I would love it if anyone has any further details or a photo!
