In may 1960 I was posted from the RAF Technical College Hemslow Bedfordshire, to RAF El Adem, Libya, Africa. Here we had the white Vulcans for tests, trials and proving flights prior to going into squadron service.

After my demob I continued my interest in the RAF and attended most of the RAF Finningley Open Days. The Vulcans were an extra bonus.

When XH558 moved to Doncaster, where I live, I joined the society to keep it flying. Now I have come full circle from the start in 1960 to the end in 2015.
