My Dad, Denis Henry Martin, worked on Vulcans at AV Roe, Woodford, in the 1960’s when my brother, Alan and I were very small children.

He was an airframes Inspector, and was hugely proud of his work, and the mighty aircraft that preserved peace in very troubled times .

He lived just long enough to see XH558 return to flight, and he knew that his contributions to the project had come to fruition. God Bless my Dad, God Bless XH558, and God Bless all those who made a dream come true.

The very best of British engineering, is soon to be grounded, but the memories will last for ever.
