Having watched the first public appearance of the AVRO 698 at the Farnborough Air show, I never thought then that many years later I would work on B2 Vulcan Bombers in the capacity of an RAF Airborne Radar Mechanic, working on the navigational bombing systems (NBS) as fitted to V Bombers.

I was stationed at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, which was home to three Squadrons of B2 Vulcans, 617, 83 and 27 Squadrons. My time spent there was from 1960 to 1962.

I have fond memories of an interesting period in my life, something which I am proud to have been part of, and which means a lot to me, and something that I treasure. I was formerly S.A.C Lambourn.
