I was driving along in the Huntingdon and Cambridge area with my car roof window open and I heard a thunderous roar in the sky.
Overhead flew the Vulcan flight, en route eventually to bomb the runway at Port Stanley.
Not realising the reason for the flight, not long after it became headline news on all the media that the runway at Port Stanley had been successfully bombed thus depriving the invading Argentine Forces of a useable landing strip.
It also informed the world that we were still a major force to be recognised. This also was the only times that a Vulcan was used in anger.
