I remember the spine tingling feeling when four Vulcans carried out a mass scramble at Waddington Air show. The noise and power of these great machines is what got me interested in aviation. The Vulcan display I saw at RAF Swinderby in the early 80’s was also fantastic, the crew making loads of tight turns to keep to the display line, showing how an aircraft of this size can be handled like a fighter.

My dad loved aircraft and did see the Vulcan in the 80’s but didn’t get a chance to see the fantastic displays of XH558 in recent years, I’m sure he would still be impressed as I am, every time I see and hear the Vulcan.
