Dad worked at Bracebridge Heath Lincolnshire at AV Roe.
He worked at both BH and at Filton He was a constructional engineer and helped to build the smaller precursors of the Vulcan before the real plane was constructed.
We lived at the bottom of a small ridge down from Bracebridge and we were often deafened by the static revving up of the engines. And the ground seemed to shake when this happened.
As a young boy, the noise itself was very impressive.
