I have been brought up going to watch air shows and in particular seeing the Vulcan. All my family are Vulcan mad and she is part of our collective family memory.
Watching her fly by at Sunderland air museum left me with tears in m eyes, and incredibly moved to see all the many many people lined up on every road as far as I could see, and cars parked back to back, all there to see her fly by for 5 minutes. Everyone stood in their spot watching until she was just a tiny speck in the distance.
I cannot thank everyone enough for keeping her fly for this long.
I shall absolutely make sure I see her do a final display this year, and know I will feel a real sense of loss as she disappears out of sight, and that I will then never see or hear her again.
