I have very fond memories of the Avro Vulcan, especially in the 60’s, when I would frequently be in the school playground, or even around where I lived, I would often see a Vulcan fly over. Usually, at about 30,000 feet, but with the unmistakable tri-angular shape and the vapour trails.
I used to go to RAF Biggin Hill in September, when it was Free, yes, Free to see an air show!
Back then, there would be a Vulcan on static display and 1 would do a flying display. They were always very memorable shows!! Was I living near a Vulcan Base?
No, I have lived in Croydon all my life, 61 years altogether.
