as a young boy in about 1967- 68 I was growing up in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
My memories fishing on the River by Wroot Canal nr Doncaster. I recall vividly these large aircraft flying over as I fished. The noise and the aircrafts distinguishing shape will remain in my memories. Little did I know at that time the important part they were playing in the defence of our country. This icon of an aircraft at that time from memory was in white livery and was flying from its base at RAF Finningley.
In later years living in the Midlands in the 1980s I took my children to RAF Cosford Air Show, and they experienced the same thrill as the Vulcan flew over, as I did at that age. A superb unique aircraft which will always be special to me.
