Avro Vulcan XH558 Pint Glass
The ‘Avro’ wings logo with ‘Vulcan XH558’ is printed on one side of the glass.
This traditional style of glass holds a British pint of 20 imperial fluid ounces or 568ml. Designed in 1913, the ‘nonic’ style glass can still be seen today in pubs throughout the UK.
The design of the glass provides improved grip. The bulge gives you a place to securely hold your drink, so when condensation appears on the outside of the glass it doesn’t slip through your hand.
The bulge also gives strength. It acts as a bumper and protects the rim from becoming chipped or ‘nicked’Â if the glass is tipped over. The term ‘nonic’Â derives from ‘no nick’.
