Signed – “Cleared for Take-off” Art Print of XH558
an Art print on 310 gm Photo Art Paper
Taken from an original oil painting by Mal Grosse, the painting depicts Vulcan XH558 taking off from Bruntingthorpe airfield on the 18th October 2007, after 2 years of restoration which restored her to full flying condition.
It’s an image frozen in time that perfectly captures the memorable day XH558 finally leapt into the air for her second flying career, a feat many people said could never happen. This was an incredible feat of British Engineering and determination. The achievement stands as a salute to all the supporters of XH558, who made the whole project possible.
Each print has been signed by the two pilots, Al McDicken and David Thomas and the Air Electronics Officer, Barry Masefiels who formed the crew on its first flight after restoration and is also signed the artist Mal Grosse
A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included with the print, for attaching to the back of the frame following mounting.
These remaining copies from the original print run were made available to us by donation from Officers of Vulcan to the Sky Club.
With a total now available of only 7 prints this offer is certain to be the last opportunity to acquire a copy of this historic image.
